Dr. Natalie Blasingame is a mother, educator, community volunteer, and CFISD school board trustee with a calling to ensure that all of our Cy-Fair schools are factories of hope. Natalie fights to ensure that our children, all children, have a hope and a future by advocating for parent voice, student choice, Judeo-Christian values, and religious freedom in our schools.
As an immigrant from South Africa to the United States at age nine, Natalie knows firsthand that this nation offers opportunities like no other and believes it is blessed to help others. She benefited from public schools and earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees at state universities. Dr. Blasingame has dedicated her career to serving the Houston community, beginning as a bilingual third-grade teacher 33 years ago.
Driven by a passion for students and families, Natalie understands what it takes to transform lives through quality education, demonstrated in her roles as a teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, School Support Officer, and Assistant Superintendent in local school districts. After retiring, Natalie joined the CFISD school board to continue advancing excellence and equality of outcomes in the third largest district in Texas, which is increasingly diverse and urban.
Natalie is working to address the achievement gap, promote safety as a priority, and drive programs that prepare all children for college, careers, and life after graduation so they can become successful adults and have families of their own. She aims to set an example for her daughter through dedication to educational excellence, commitment to community service, and faith-driven decision-making. Natalie attends Calvary Community Church.
